Description of the theft
I was working as an artist installing work in the Museum of Museums from 5:15pm to 9pm. As there are a lack of bike racks in
the area, I locked my bicycle to a No Parking sign. At 9pm I went out to my bicycle to ride home for the evening and found
only the pieces of my Kryptonite Evolution U-Lock on the ground, apparently severed using an angle grinder (the tool
generated enough heat to melt some of the rubberized plastic coating, and leave the steel with tempered coloring). Bike
thieves are a dastardly scourge. And considering the tooling, this was not their first bicycle theft.
