Bicycle detail

On June 27, 2021 morning we discovered that my 2020 purchased bike was stolen from our locked garage. Thegarage is located at the back side of our apartment which is the alley between Vinton Ave and Jasmine Ave closestto Venice Blvd. The area has always had homeless around especially near Venice/Jasmine, but never has there beenan issue through the 3+ years we have been here. The only issue is homeless randomly going through garbages,sleeping in areas, or tents near Venice, but we have not experience any theft. Recently, the homelessness hasbecome more of an issues and things are getting stolen from what we've heard. Now, my property has been stolenand I strongly believe this was done by one of the chop shops found under the overpasses or anywhere in the area. We noticed the first issue when the lock of the gate was broken a week before and we notified our landlord. Thelandlord replaced the lock and blamed us, but we knew it was cut. Tenants knew as well, but the landlord replacedthe lock with another similar lock. Right after this, the same type of lock is broken and the garage was broken intowith cars and other property. The bike was also locked against the back wall/gate about 15 -20 feet away from theentrance of the main garage gate. Somehow the bike locks were removed or broken then taken with the bike itselfas all that was leftwas a small piece of velcro from the bike. I've roamed around the area in search of the bike, but am afraid this is just gone as the chop shops just repaint orchange up bikes. If you drive by the overpasses as I'm sure the police already know; you will find numerous bikeswhich is absurd. Something needs to be done about this as it is obviously in our face, but the county still allows forthis nonsense leading to theft. My bike is just a material item, but this wouldn't happen if our streets were safer andif something was done about this nonsense. Why can't I have my bike locked up in a locked garage at my home?
