Description of the theft
I came back from a trip on Monday, October 30th to discover that my bicycle was stolen from our backyard. It is (and has been for 4.5 years) kept in an unlocked tent behind the house, which is a back-unit ADU off I-35 and Riverside. My bicycle is a purple Cannondale road bike with thinner tires. It had 5 different accessories on it that were also stolen along with the bike: 1) a Kryptonite U-lock, 2) a 500-lumen front bike light, 3) a back light, 4) saddle bag underneath the seat, and 5) water bottle holder on the frame. Estimate for everything is about $935. No damage to any as far as I know. We had been out of town since Wednesday, October 25th around 6pm and got back from the airport on Monday around 5:15pm. I didn't notice the bike was missing until I went to take it out for a ride around 7:45pm. The tent that it was normally in was opened and knocked over, and emptied of the bike. My father stopped by our house every day to play with the cat and didn’t notice the tent knocked over in the back when he walked around the back of the house, so we are assuming the bike was stolen anytime between Saturday night and Monday early evening. Most likely at night as it is pretty dark in our neighborhood.
