Description of the theft
On 07 July 2025 I parked my charcoal-grey Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 (model year 2020, size 56 cm, serial WTU105G0065P) in my assigned stall on the 2nd-floor parking deck of Santa Clara Square, Building 4, Space 240 (3390 Octavius Dr.). The bike was left unlocked, leaning against the wall of the stall at ≈ 08:05 AM when I departed for work.
Distinctive identifying features – all visible in the attached photos:
• Colour: factory “Charcoal” (dark grey) with two red accent bands on the fork crown and seat-tube cluster
• Two bottle cages – left white/pink, right dark grey – each holding its bottle in the photos
• Under-saddle chain-lock pouch and a red rear LED light beneath the saddle
• Drop handlebars, 700 × 38 c Bontrager GR1 tyres, 2× Shimano drivetrain
• Small scuff on the right seat-stay near the dropout (see Photo 3)
When I returned at 3:00 PM the bike was gone. A search of the entire parking level and nearby bike racks was negative; no lock remnants or debris were present. Although deck access is key-fob controlled, tailgating behind residents is possible and has been witnessed previously. I observed no suspicious persons or vehicles when leaving in the morning, and no neighbours have reported sightings.
I immediately informed building security and requested that they preserve CCTV footage covering 07 Jul 07:45 – 15:15 (vehicle gate, pedestrian lobby doors and the aisle near Space 240). I will provide that footage to SCPD when it is available.
Value of loss: approx. USD 1,800 (bike + accessories). Proof of ownership (sales invoice reading “CHECKPOINT ALR 5 56 CHARCOAL 20” and matching serial) is attached. The bicycle is flagged “Stolen” on Bike Index and 529 Garage; registry links are included below.
Please notify me immediately by e-mail [your-email] or phone [your-phone] if the bicycle is recovered or further information is required.
