Description of the theft
Someone stole the rear wheel a few weeks ago. The frame and front wheel were locked up with a U-lock so I thought the rest of the bike was still secure and I left it locked until I could replace the wheel. Someone removed the rest of the bike, lock and all, by tearing apart the object it was locked to. The U-lock may still be attached to the frame and front wheel.
I paid $500 for it in 2011, don't know how much it's worth now. Not sure what qualifies as proof of ownership but City Bikes has a record of the sale and I have a key that unlocks the U-lock.
