Description of the theft
The bike was securely chained to our own dedicated bike rack bolted to the wall of our apartment block's access controlled underground parking garage in our parking space. The bike was only 2 days old (a birthday present for my boyfriend) and was last ridden on 12 January and securely locked up at 7pm that evening. The theft of the bike was discovered at 8pm on 13 January. It is estimated that the theft would have taken place during the day (time unknown) on 13 January as there is no security presence in the parking garage during the day. Video footage from the parking garage area has been sent to LAPD to review.
