Description of the theft
I was storing the bike in my garage, when the garage door stopped working and I didn't report for several months due to a previously more substantive repair that wasn't done, come to find out what actually happened is my landlord/management company had accidentally rented my garage that I was paying for to another tenant. So this bike could have been missing since May or June. (Due to disability issues I can only ride rarely, but do enjoy riding when I can!)
They are claiming that nobody on staff saw the bike and that the garage was empty when they gave the garage to someone else.
I haven't reported to police yet, because management wants to search the premises first to see if someone else has it. My guess is they decided it was abandoned property and it is long gone, and the person who has it thinks they have it legitimately through a used bike shop.
2nd bike I've had stolen at this property (and yes, apparently if your landlord takes it in that manner, even if it was an accident, it still counts as theft, I checked).
