Description of the theft
Arrived at hotel at 0030 on 07/24. Parked in front lot, occupying two parking spaces as we were towing a 1989 BMW 325
converible. Both cars were locked. Roof box also locked. Bike rack on back of tow vehicle did not have a lock. Three bikes
were on the bike rack (Salsa, Cannondale, Diamondback) and were secured with straps. Checked into the hotel, went to our
room and fell asleep.
Checked out of hotel at 1030 on 7/24 and discovered that the two bicycles that would need to come off the rack first
(Cannondale, Diamondback) had been stolen. Reported the theft to hotel staff. Staff advised filing a police report in order to
gain access to video survailence footage from the parking lot cameras. Staff did not seem surprised, concerned, or
apologetic. Went and bought a bike lock for the remaining bike.
