Bicycle detail

My husbands bike was locked to our two other (cheeper) bikes with a cable lock in the stairwell of the back entrance to our apartment. Three weeks ago, his other mountain bike was stollen from the same place, but we had a worse lock so we thought we'd be OK this time. He bought the bike on Saturday, had a blast riding it on Sunday, and we woke up to it stollen Monday morning. Given this pattern, we're considering moving apartments. Regardless, it would restore so much faith in humanity if we were able to recover this bike. We are in contact with the shop so we can get the serial number.
