Bicycle detail

I locked my bicycle next to my friend's bike, using a Kryptonite heavy duty U-lock, before entering the Town Bar & Lounge around 8pm. I stepped out and checked on it around 9pm, and it was still there. When we finished our drinks and walked out at 9:55pm, my friend's bike was still there but mine was gone. The U-lock had been bent and pried open using some massive source of force. I have no idea how they did it, but I'm puzzled that no one noticed or said anything, including the door security at the bar, just a few feet away. This was a brand new bike, a significant investment for me and my primary mode of transportation, so this obviously sucks.
