Bicycle detail

A couple in a black SUV cut the lock and took the bicycle that was parked right by the front door of REI. Another customer saw them, chased them down the freeway and reported their license plate to 911. The police told me later that police reports completed online aren't often sent to substation assigned to handle the cases. They I was told the registration of the vehicle was out of date so they couldn't do anything and REI required a subpoena to release their videos, which they said are low quality anyway. (really???) I guess stolen bikes are very low priority so we've got to try to recover them on our own.
