Bicycle detail

I locked my bike to the fence outside Calgary Bicycle Repair near Sunalta Station last night. My pedal assist was malfunctioning, making the bike turn off randomly as well. The shop had just closed (it was 5:59 pm) but I thought leaving it there overnight would be better than lugging it all the way home. I left the key in the mailbox. According to their video, someone wrangled and ripped the bike off the fence a little before 5 a.m. this morning, there's red paint on the fence, and the mailbox is damaged. The video shows the suspect to be quite inebriated, and the malfunctioning pedal assist + no key likely means the bike has not gone far. The shop called to report the bike was missing today at 9:45.
