Bicycle detail

My son is a student at UCONN and his bike was stolen on Good Friday in broad daylight, somewhere around 3:30ish or thereafter. He had it locked up to the bike rack with a 12mm steel cable combo lock outside the Student Recreation Center which is located on the main road through UCONN. It is a very visible area, so he was surprised to come outside and see his lock had been cut with tools and his bike gone. He used that bike to get everywhere on campus. And he lives in the student apartments about 1 mile from campus. He called the UCONN Police, they immediately responded, filled out a report, and started canvassing the area, but there has been no leads since then. I informed local bike shops and pawn shops and have been searching the online forums to see if its up for sale. I am coming up empty unfortunately.
