Bicycle detail

We had 3 bikes out on our second story apartment balcony. We had put stuff in the way to make them look like they were locked, as we had just moved and needed to get a chain or cable long enough to go around and lock all the bikes. We were hoping that being on the second story would be enough to deter people from taking the bike. We left the house around 9:15 am Thursday morning to attend a funeral, and when we came home again at about 2:30 and I was going to chain them up, we noticed the stuff had been moved and the Giant Revel bike stolen. It is possible to climb up to our balcony, but it would take some time and effort, and being right beside a busy street with constant traffic means there is a high probability someone saw the person there. Only 1 bike was taken.
